Photographs of Greece, Germany, France, Italy, and the U.S. will be on display at the Raymond Stark Salon, July 13 to mid-September, 2010.
"While I love black and white photos, I really 'see' in color," said Sarah, who looks for interesting angles. "I enjoy taking landscape shots but my favorite subject is architecture."
In addition to a photo shot on the Acropolis and featuring a column from the Parthenon in Athens, new photos include a grouping from Santorini, an island off the southeast coast of Greece in the Cyclades, and from Crete, the largest of the Greek isles.
"Sunsets tell a story and are peaceful and pretty," said Carol, who just enjoys shooting with great light. Among her favorite "light" shots are her sailboat on Lake Como, Ghost Ship which was a sunrise off Kaikoura, New Zealand; and her red rock shots at Sedona, Arizona; Zion and Bryce National Parks.
Both Carol and Sarah had their own darkrooms in the 70's. "You learn more by practicing your art or teaching it," said Sarah, who taught photography for 30 years at Richardson High School.
